Luis Vera
CEO and Co-Founder
Luis Vera launched SCOPIX in 2006 with the vision of utilizing cloud, network, video, and analytics technologies to provide business metrics previously unobtainable.Under Luis's leadership, the company has successfully created a Software as a Service (SaaS) offering which is being utilized by retailers, including top 10 US retailers, to drive operational success and increased sales and profits.
Luis Vera is an entrepreneur who has a strong track record of creating successful companies that use video and network technologies to create successful innovative solutions primarily focused on the Retail and Consumer Products Industries.
Prior to launching SCOPIX, Luis founded and led Prospect, a technology company that developed innovative video-based solutions for the retail industry that grew to 150 employees, generated millions of dollars in revenues, and succeeded in OEM'ing the Propect products to Toshiba for distribution in the United States under the Toshiba brand. In 1999, Luis was selected as a "high-impact entrepreneur" by Endeavor (www.endeavor.org), a New York based non-profit organization that selects and supports leading entrepreneurs in emerging markets to support their global success, and continues to be an active participant and mentor.
Luis spent his early years in the San Francisco Bay Area and then at the age of 14 returned to Chile with his family where he received degrees in Industrial and Electrical Engineering from Universidad de Chile.
Ariel Schilkrut
Senior Vice President of Customer Solutions and Co-Founder
Ariel Schilkrut helped launch SCOPIX with co-founder Luis Vera, CEO, in 2006 with the vision of utilizing cloud, network, video, and analytics technologies to provide business metrics previously unobtainable.Ariel is responsible for solution strategy, innovation, development, product management for SCOPIX and personally led the design and implementation of the product and service offering. He leverages his retail consulting and academic background to drive high value solutions that consistently deliver market leading ROI to SCOPIX clients.
Ariel has extensive experience in retail operations and strategic consulting, including founding Matrix Consulting, a boutique management consulting firm in Chile focused on retail operations excellence while he was a professor of operations at Universidad Adolfo Ibañez, and assistant professor of operations at Universidad de Chile. Prior to founding his own consultancy, Ariel spent several years at Bain & Co. in Boston, advising large US and global clients. Ariel began his career developing mathematical models used by large companies to run their complex operations and his work has spanned from redesign of a perishable supply chain for a U.S. grocer to a broad study of out-of-stocks and its consequences in Latin America.
Ariel holds a Ph.D. in Operations Management from the MIT Sloan School of Management, where he published his thesis "Managing customer relationship channels through pricing and service quality" (2001), and a degree in Industrial Engineering from the Universidad de Chile.
Verlin Youd
Senior Vice President of Sales & Marketing
Verlin Youd is responsible for market growth initiatives, including direct sales, channels/partners, strategic alliances, and marketing. Verlin joined SCOPIX after 20 years of experience delivering critical technology solutions in retail.Prior to joining SCOPIX, Verlin was Senior Vice President, Global Trade Sector for SAP, responsible for SAP's global retail, wholesale, and transportation & logistics solutions and markets. Prior to SAP, Verlin was Vice President of Global Industry Solutions for Motorola's Enterprise Mobility business, following Motorola's successful acquisition of Symbol Technologies, a $1.7 billion company focused on industry based solutions and vertical go-to-market. At Symbol, Verlin held positions as Vice President and General Manager of the Solutions Division as well as Vice President of the Retail Industry Solution Group. Verlin has also held various executive and management positions in general management, sales, marketing, channels, solution & product management, and development at IBM and Systech Retail Systems (now part of Torex Retail).
Verlin has an MBA from The Kenan-Flagler School of Business at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and a Bachelors of Science degree in Finance from the Marriott School of Management at Brigham Young University.
